The production of this rare Vintage Pinot Port has only been possible because of exceptional ripening conditions in the Yarra Valley in 2003.It is made from selected, late picked Pinot Noir fruit and has been fortified with premium quality grape spirit.
This rich, burgundy colored wine has a complex and fruity nose. On the palate there is full flavored plumb and black cherry fruit with good balancing spirit, soft tannin and a satisfying, lingering follow through. A wine to please those who must drink it now, but ideally suited to develop and mature during the next few years in the bottle. Not for keeping once opened.
Cellaring 5-25 years. Optimal drinking 5-20? years.
