Badger's Brook 2004 Estate Shiraz Viognier This wine is a rich full flavoured Shiraz showing blackberry characters with a hint of white pepper. The Viognier adds more lift and a floral hint to the middle pallet and seems to bring out more of the blackberry flavours than in our straight Shiraz which was made in the same fashion. The palate is rich and quite savoury with some lovely dusty oak nuances. The wine has an almost silky mouth feel and the tannins on the finish are now quite restrained. |

Badger's Brook 2006 Estate Shiraz Roussanne Marsanne The Shiraz (93%), Rousanne (4%) and Marsanne(3%) were combined at ferment. After ferment the wine was placed into older French Oak for 18 months. This wine is a more fruit driven style of Shiraz given that no new oak was used. Our Shiraz still gives off traces of blackberry and displays characteristics of white pepper on the nose. The Rousanne and Marsanne seem to lift the fruit in the middle palate but also give the wine a delicious savouriness.. The wine has an almost silky mouth feel with the subtle dusty oak nuances and the restrained tannins on the finish. If stored correctly this wine will benefit from a minimum of 5 years in the cellar. |

Badger's Brook 2008 Voignier Roussanne Marsanne This wine was picked early to retain the natural acidity. The grapes were chilled, pressed off into older oak on solids and allowed to co-ferment as they warmed up with wild yeast. The resultant wine shows uplifted lime and and fresh peach aromas, which follow through on the palate, there is also a hint of apricot which should increase as the wine gains age. Has a wonderful long and minerally finish. Apsulutely delighted with this wine. |
